This festival project entailed creating a festival and building out its branding, as well as designing an informational festival brochure and tickets. Shakesbeer Theatre & Brew Festival combines classic Shakespearean productions with local craft breweries, creating a unique blended festival centered around supporting arts and local businesses. This two-day festival takes place in upstate New York and provides a unique space for creatives, Shakespeare lovers, brewers, and everyone in between.
To capture the essence of Shakesbeer Fest, I created a mood board with some illustative and typographic inspiration. After doing some research, I explored various typefaces, created a wordmark, and established a clear typographic hierarchy. To incorporate the festival’s old-timey yet fun feel, I drew a series of brewery and Shakespearean-inspired illustrations. I included these illustrations in all of the deliverables so there was a fun artistic element in the system.
